Pre-Authorisation Charges

When you place an order on Radioworld.ca, your bank may show something called a pre‑authorisation charge. This can look like you were billed, however, it’s not an actual charge.

What Is a Pre‑Authorisation?

It’s a temporary hold your bank places on your account to confirm:

  • Your payment method is valid.
  • Your billing address matches what the bank has on file.

Think of it like your bank reserving the funds so Radioworld can complete your order.

Is This a Real Charge?

No. A pre‑authorisation does not remove money from your account.

Your credit card is only charged when your item actually ships.

What Happens If My Order Has Backordered Items?

You will only be charged for the items that ship.

Your statement may show separate charges for each shipment.

How Long Does the Hold Last?

Your bank controls how long the pre‑authorisation stays on your account before it disappears.

If you want to know the exact timeline, or you want a hold removed, you’ll need to contact your bank directly.

Why Do I See Multiple Holds?

If your order doesn’t go through right away due to address verification issues, each attempt may create a new pre‑authorisation on your account.
